What Carpet Accessories do I need?

Carpet accessories offer a range of benefits and create the perfect, finished flooring. You might use them to secure your carpet down, to create a seamless transition or to add comfort beneath it. We’ve put together some of the best carpet accessories for use in your home.

Carpet Gripper

Carpet grippers are available in lengths of 1m and come pre-nailed. The nails are there to provide a firm grip for your new carpets to be laid on and will also prevent them from losing tension. Carpet grippers allow you to pull the carpet as tight as possible to avoid any lumps or bumps from appearing over time. They’re simple to use and can be cut to size, helping to speed up installation and keep your carpets looking great for as long as possible.

Door Bars

Door bars come in a range of door bars including single edge, double edge, Z section, laminate and LVT. The one you choose will depend on the flooring you have installed; for carpets, single edge, double edge or Z section is best. The job of a door bar is to cover any expansion gaps or joins where different floors meet in doorways. They are available in most finishes, so you can choose what suits your home best.

Carpet Care

A brand-new carpet may warrant some new accessories for carpet care. For example, you should look at buying a pile brush to keep your carpets pile re-set and soft. If you’ve purchased a cream or light-coloured carpet you may want to invest in some carpet cleaning products to save you from any mishaps, particularly if you have children or pets!

Underlay is an important carpet addition that will make your flooring look, wear and feel better. The underlay you choose will give your new carpet flooring a cushioned feeling beneath your feet and will help to absorb shock, reduce noise and insulate the home. Take a look at our previous blog all about why you should invest in underlay!
